To align with Utah State Board of Education (USBE) rules, CFEF microschool/hybrid school vendors must know the difference:
Part-Time (No USBE approval needed):
• Families choose individual classes (e.g., “Math – $250/ semester”)
• Enrichment, tutoring, electives, or extracurriculars
• Limited hours; not a full curriculum
• Examples: Art, music, therapy, tutoring, homeschool co-op Full-Time (USBE approval required):
• Flat tuition for full curriculum (not per class) • Students attend as primary school
• Covers all core subjects, even if only 3 days/week
• Examples: Private schools, microschools, full subject programs
Key:
• Part-Time = Per class/subject/hour • Full-Time = Full program/flat tuition
Purchase Requests
As of October 1, 2025, the purchase request feature has been turned off. This option was originally added for flexibility when the program was small, but with over 1,400 students, it’s no longer sustainable. We’re working on a better, more efficient system and aim to launch it by January 2026.
• Reimbursements remain available and are the standard method for using scholarship funds.
• Requests submitted before Oct. 1 will still be reviewed by Oct. 15.
• If you still see the option in the portal, it’s disabled— new entries will be removed. Thank you for your patience as we improve the program. We truly appreciate your flexibility and support as we grow!

Reminder
Just a quick reminder that items like filament, beads, and school supplies should be used to support the scholarship student’s current learning. Supplies should not be stockpiled, gifted, resold, or used by other family members. Only enough materials for the school year should be purchased, and only for the scholarship student. Thank you for your support and for helping us maintain the integrity of the program.
Date Reminders
Reimbursement Requests: Submit by 10 PM on the last day of the month to receive payment by the 25th of the following month.
